Hot Shot got off to an early lead, followed closely behind by Override and Dirt Boss. Running on foot is a perfectly viable strategy in a road race. Landmine, Red Alert, Clocker, and Brakedown managed to take fourth through seventh, leaving Ransack and Crumplezone to limp in in 8th and 9th. He then flattened his supposed allies to take third. Meanwhile, Dirt Boss got around the obstacle by going off-road, allowing him to quickly catch up to Ransack and Crumplezone. In an impressive display of timing, Optimus Prime drove right into the hole to let Hot Shot successfully use the commander's back as a ramp onto the final stretch to take second by the use of his Cyber Key Power.
